On January 14, 2000, HomeSmart announced its grand opening to the Phoenix, AZ marketplace.  HomeSmart, starting with just 2 sales agents at its January 2000 beginning, has experienced record setting growth, and with the recent acquisition of another local Arizona brokerage, HomeSmart numbers in excess of 3,800 agents as of August 2008.  HomeSmart is not only Arizona’s fastest growing multi-office brokerage, but has franchise locations in Prescott, AZ, and Temecula, CA; with more on the immediate horizon.  HomeSmart is currently the largest real estate company in the southwest United States.  The founder and principal of HomeSmart, now 38 years of age, is Matt Widdows.

In April 2005, HomeSmart Real Estate of California became the very first HomeSmart franchise; opened its doors in Temecula, CA, and now has well over 100 seasoned professional agents as of August 2008, including active  HomeSmart agent representation in cities such as Santa Clara, Red Bluff, Cottonwood, Moorpark, and Van Nuys, CA.  The Temecula, CA location is the home base for HomeSmart Real Estate of California, EscrowSmart, HomeSmart Real Estate School of California, and additional virtual offices planned for the adjacent three county areas of San Bernardino, Orange, and San Diego encompassing a total of 83 Southern California zip codes.

The principals of HomeSmart Real Estate of California are Skip Bettarel and Barbara Baker (both brokers) who as officers of their parent corporation, Here, There and Everywhere, Inc have a combined level of multi-faceted real estate experience of nearly 80 years in the industry.  In their spare time the principals enjoy a variety of interests including travel, golf, grand children, and assisting the less fortunate.
